"The Jalopy" is our favourite mountain biking loop in the Chilterns, but it's also accessible on foot. In total it covers 30 miles of lovely hilly scenery. This is our third cache on the route, which we are building into a series (and this will receive a number in sequence once the loop is more complete).
Come find me on a mountain bike, or park and walk from nearby. It's a fairly flat walk but if you continue down the trail on a MTB it becomes a lovely flowing descent, if a bit nettle-y and rooty in places. Though fairly quiet when we are there (all year round), warm days can bring lots of people and dogs and horses too, so take special care PLEASE if there are muggles around. (You won't have to stray far from the path, but you'll be quite visible if there are people around.) Lots of tree cover here which also means lots of potential hides, so we will try to give a fairly explicit hint.
[Edit to note: MOUNTAIN biking is in the title, we do not recommend attempting local bridleways by road bike!]
Parking is not possible on the bridleway, making for a bit of a walk (not a cache & dash!), but there is room for vehicles near the Green (and the local field/cricket pitch). There are parking lots a longer way down the hill in the nature reserve but we suggest that only for the hardiest of hikers!
You're looking for a tubular micro that is covered in camoflage tape, and contains just a log and pencil. Please replace as found.
