Geocache Description:

Mount Holyoke Range, Metacomet-Monadnock Trail
Mount Holyoke summit is accessible by road April through November; hiking trails, year-round; Summit House, weekends, holidays, Memorial Day-Columbus Day. Cars cost $2.00 on weekends, holidays; free on weekdays.

Hiking the M-M trails was fun before caching. The addition of Geocaching has made us go to parts of the trail we never explored. This cache is located just off the trail. It's close so look both ways before searching. The cache can be found using multiple access trails. You can park at the main gate and hike the Two Forest Trail.
For the best hike, start at the junctions of Rte 47 & the gravel road Rte 47 at the Hadley/South Hadley town lines, and make tracks along the M-M trail (merged with Dry Brook Trail: around 42 17.384N / 72 36.045) it’s 1.6 miles to the Summit House from that starting point.

The mosquito meter was pegged when the cache was placed. The coordinates may be off a little. We will double check or if you get to it before us mention the accuracy.

The cache started out with a compass, man-made Dri Water, miscellaneous mini-mutts, Morning Glory seeds, MCI phone card, map of Cape Cod, Management Handbook, Motorcycle stickers, Military stickers, eowth sticker, magnetic driver and a magnifying glass. Please make an entry in the logbook and take a picture!(M's the theme)

Twenty years ago, the tree was standing...moved cache over about ten feet.
