GRUISSAN TOUR Wherigo Cache

Dans l'ancien village de pêcheurs, situé sur le lac de Gruissan, se trouvent les maisons en cercles concentriques, comme un escargot, enroulées autour des ruines de la « Tour de Barberousse », élevée sur une roche. Avant l' ensablement c'était un port important d’où partaient les bateaux pour aller pêcher à la hauteur de l'Espagne et l'Algérie. Un nouveau port de plaisance a été formé au bord de l'Etang du Grazel'. Loin sur la plage de Gruissan, nous trouvons 1300 maisons sur pilotis qui ont été construits afin d'éviter un engorgement par l'eau de mer. Ils datent du XIXe siècle, étaient des maisons de pêcheurs et sont maintenant entièrement rénovés comme maisons de vacances.

In the old fishing village, located on the Lake of Gruissan, are the homes in concentric circles, like a snail, rolled up around the ruins of the "Tour de Barberousse", situated high on a rock. For the silting up it was an important port from which boats left to go fishing at the height of Spain and Algeria. A new port was formed on the side of the other lake, the ' Etang du Grazel '. Away on the beach of Gruissan we find the 1300 stilt houses that were built in order to avoid flooding by seawater. They date from the 19th century, were fishermen houses, and are now fully renovated as holiday homes.

In het oude vissersdorp, gelegen aan het meer van Gruissan, staan de huizen in concentrische cirkels, als een slak opgerold, rond de ruïne van de “Tour de Barberousse”, die hoog op een rots ingepland staat. Voor de verzanding was het een belangrijke haven van waaruit boten vertrokken om te gaan vissen ter hoogte van Spanje en Algerije. Een nieuwe jachthaven ontstond aan de kant van het andere meer, het ‘Etang du Grazel’.
Verderop gelegen, aan het strand van Gruissan vinden we de 1300 paalwoningen die gebouwd werden om overstromingen door zeewater te vermijden. Ze dateren uit de 19e eeuw, waren visserswoningen, en worden nu volop als vakantiewoningen gerenoveerd.
