This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to my note I am archiving it.

Guidelines:**You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing.**

If you wish to contact me about this cache please use my Email address below my signature and quote the GC number of the cache. Please note this system is not infallible and I may miss any such mail.

Geocache Description:

“If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list”

The cache is a small film canister opposite the church's main enterance.  Please register any DNFs, and if you are truely stuck don't hesitate to email me.

St Johns and All Saints,

Easingwold Parish Church lies at the highest point of the Old Town of Easingwold at the top of Church Hill.  It overlooks the town to the south and from the cemetery behind the church, has a fine and clear view over to the White Horse of Kilburn and over the Vale ofYork to the Yorkshire Dales.

In the past prior to major development it would have been seen from a wide area around Easingwold.

The present church dates mainly from the 15th century, although contains possible remains of older fabric and a re-set 12-Century doorway.  In 1853 a porch was added y the Lancaster architect E. G. Paley, and in 1858 the church was restored by the same architect.
