Geocache Description:

Overlooking the Kittitas Valley is a spot that once was home to the Peoh Point Lookout tower. The Tower is gone but the view remains. Take a walk on the adventerous side, and come visit On Top of Old Peoh. You'll be glad you came.

Description:There are many breath-taking views in Washington State, and it does not take a lot of effort to get to them. Peoh Point is one of them. Overlooking the Town of Cle Elum is the rocky point of Peoh. Many plant their gardens based on this point. "When there is no snow on Peoh, it is time to plant the peas." Many have driven past this point, and now it is time for you to go the distance, and see the Kittitas Valley from a new point of view.

The Cache contents are comprised of a wide variety of things that you might use while camping. Since this cache is in the woods, we decided to make this cache another Brownie themed cache. If you take something, only leave something that might be useful when camping, or hiking, like D rings, flashlights, etc.

Have a fun time, and be careful. Please keep an eye on the young ones because the cache is close to a big drop off.

Driving Directions: Peoh Point can be reached using FR3350. From Cle Elum, head south through South Cle Elum. Go past the Iron Horse Bed and Breakfast, and follow the road to FR3350. The turnoff is too the left just past Mohar Road. It is well maintained and there should be no problems getting up to the cache site.

If you are coming from the Ellensburg, you do not actually need to drive all the way to Cle Elum. Take the Thorp turn off, and go through the town of Thorp. Just past the Thorp Mill, on the right is the Thorp Prarie Road. Take the Thorp Prarie Road to Taneum Road and follow it. (I.e. The overpass over I90) Later this road turns into FR33. Just remember to keep to the right, and the road will evntually junction with FR3350. As with 3350, FR33 is also a well maintained road.

Once you reach the cache area, park at the turnout before the gate, and please make sure to hide the cache from sight, after you find it. This area receives a mild amount of foot, and motorbike / snowmobile traffic, and we don’t want anything to happen to the treasure. You shouldn't need a 4X4 to get here. My Toyota Corolla Wagon, which sits kind of low, made the trip with no problems.

Note: Note: The logbook and lid say Peoh View. This was just a misprint on my part.
