Geocache Description:

This is a Challenge cache. The cache IS at the posted Coordinates, but since this is a Challenge cache you will have to fulfill some requirements before logging the cache. Found logs from visitors who do not fulfill the requirement will be deleted. If you visit the cache without fulfilling the requirements you can post a note, then log the find online once you have fulfilled the requirements.
***The difficulty is based on the challenge while the terrain is based on the hide.

Requirements

1. Log at least one cache within each degree interval around the cache location.
2. Only caches within California count.
3. Past finds count.
4. For caches where final coordinates aren't provided on the cache page (e.g., unknown, multi, letterbox), use the posted coordinates on the cache page.
5. To figure out which degree segment a cache falls into, you can use the online tool provided below or, alternatively, use the great-circle distance formula to calculate it yourself assuming that 0 or 360 degrees is positioned at 12:00.
6. GSAK also has a macro 360Degreechallenge.
7. If the location of a cache within a degree is questionable, I may ask to view your calculations to verify how you determined the cache falls within a particular degree.
8. Pre-finds of the physical cache before meeting the challenge requirements are allowed.

In summary, to satisfy the challenge requirements, you must log at least one cache within California, of any type which is within 0-1 degrees bearing from the cache location. And then you must log at least another one for 1-2 degrees bearing and so on, up to the 359-360 degrees span. You will need at least 360 logged caches to meet the challenge requirements. An online tool is provided to help you with this challenge. At the time of cache publication, all 360 degree segments have multiple caches in them.
When you complete the requirements of finding a cache in every degree, you are eligible to log the final online. If you used the online tool, you don't need to do anything else as I will verify your stats by using the online tool. If you used an alternate means to identify the degrees, you can make a bookmark list of the caches used to qualify or list the GC#s in your log. I will contact you through your geocaching account if I have any questions about your calculations.

Help tool

As a tool to help you find what segments you have and which you need, you can use the checker at
360 Degrees of California Challenge

Simply enter your geocaching name into the "Profile name" drop-down box and click the "Filter" button. The tool will help you identify the degree segments within which you have found at least one cache. Additionally, the online tool will identify the segments where you haven't found a cache and will provide you with a list of active caches to choose from. If you have any questions about how the tool or the challenge works, either post a note to the cache page or send me an email through my geocaching profile page.

Your log

As proof of completing this challenge, a simple screen shot of your map of California from the checker will do.
