The Doukato lighthouse was built in 1890 with oil as source of energy at the Lefkatas cape, where in the ancient times were the temple of Apollon Lefkatas, protector of the seamen. Its tower has a height of 14 meters and focal plane 70.
In 1950 it was destroyed by an earthquake and operated temporarily as an automated acetylen light up to 1956, when the repairs to the lighthouse were completed. In 1986 it was supplied with electricity, the oil engines where replaced and became electrically operated. (thats written on the brass board west side)
There is NO climbing required. But be careful and find the cache, covered with a rock between scrubs next to the sheer. PLEASE cover the cache again with the rock, to make it wind resistant.
Use the Spoilerpict or the Spoilervideo for an easy grab. Angle of view of the pict is to the north.
