360° of Utah Challenge Mystery Cache

Where It Came From:

This cache was inspired by the mention of the San Diego 360 Challenge! on Podcacher Show 466. As the owners of all the 360 degree challenges must, I have to send thanks to ganja1447 who owns the first 360 challenge, which is in Sweden, and the site project-gc which hosts the checkers for these challenges.

How It Works:

To log a find on this cache you must:

1. Sign the log in the cache at the above coordinates
2. Find a cache of any type within Utah in each degree sector around the challenge cache. The posted coordinates of multis and puzzles count, not the final coordinates. As with all location-based challenges, Lab caches do not count and they are not included in the checker.

In other words, you must find at least one cache of any type within Utah which is within 0-1 degrees bearing from the challenge cache itself, and at least one other for 1-2 degrees bearing from this cache and so on, up to the 359-360 degrees span.

You will need at least 360 logged caches to reach the requirement.

Verification:

Eyes crossing thinking about all the work involved in documenting this challenge? Don't panic! That's why I was thanking ganja1447 (aka Magnus on some pages) above. There is a checker at project-gc that will do the work for you. Follow this link to the checker. On the checker page, type your caching name into the box next to Profile Name and click the blue Filter button. When all 360 lines representing the degree sectors are green, you are qualified. It will also say "You have completed 360 of 360 degrees" above the map.

In other words, nothing, no list of caches, NEEDS to be attached to or in your log to support your find. Anyone can go to the checker, type in a caching name to see the progress on this challenge.

However, I think it would be fun if you would post a note with a screenshot of your progress toward this challenge when you first check it, perhaps when first reading this page or when you sign the log. Then when you finish, post another screenshot with your log, before and after pictures! Be sure to include your Profile Name when you do the screenshot. This is not a requirement, it's just for fun. ganja1447 told me when he set up the checker nine people are already qualified and a bunch are really close. It would be fun to see everyone's starting point.

Cache Location:

When I placed this cache there were several big, old cottonwood trees on a lush lawn. A few years ago the property owners decided to xerascape. In principle, I support the concept in this desert state. In practice, it is not nearly as nice a place to visit. Several years later, it's now moved to the fire hydrant outside the property. My apologies for bringing you to not the nicest place to find a cache. Hope the challenge causes you to visit many more nicer looking places.
