Test of Manhood Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Shiloh73: With the help of some of Ottawa's top geocachers, I realized that the materials won't last long from the elements at all. The final waypoint was also too far from the re-direct and the coordinates of the final waypoint were too close to another cache. Ye learn from yer mistakes and experiences.

Congrats to the FTFs of this cache!

Geocache Description:

What does it take to be a man?  It takes wisdom ... confidence ... maturity ... the familiarity to say "been there, done that" and mean it.  A man is an experienced boy.  T'is a multi with one re-direct, but will definately take up your most of your afternoon.

READ THE ENTIRE DESCRITION BEFORE SETTING OFF ON YOUR JOUNREY, AS TO KNOW WHAT TO BRING AND WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

First Waypoint:

Bring a flashlight, pen and paper, morse code chart (with letters, numbers, and punctuation translations), and perhaps a latter or a strong buddy to boost you up. Located up on the lowest branch of the tree before you is the coordinates of the final waypoint.  The coordinates are in morse code and are covered with a transluscent-opaque substance which one can only see through if one shines a flashlight directly at it.  Depending on the time of day (or if it is night), the flashlight will need to be shown at a certain angle in order to see the coordinates clearly.  Use the morse code chart to translate the digits, and write the translated coordinates onto paper with your pen.

Final Waypoint:

Bring some swimtrunks and some waterproof shoes or sandals.  Go to the given coordinates.  Walk a few steps westward down the path until you find a large opening that presents a vast marshland.  If you look directly forward and halfway to the left, you can see a large tree trunk out in the middle of the marsh, sticking out from the tall overgrowth.  This tree trunk is where the cache is hidden.  Yes, you will need to swim through the marsh to retrieve the cache.  Depending on where you start, the swim could be anywhere from 50m to 100m long through dense vegetation and other marsh-related terrain.  T'is a small, long, black container hanging on a branch by a string with a log inside.  Bring a long stick with you before you jump in the bog, as it will be easier to fish for the container with the stick, as suppose to climbing the trunk.

DO NOT ATTEMPT THE FINAL WAYPOINT CHALLENGE IF YOU CANNOT SWIM, CURRENTLY HAVE AN INJURY OR LIMITATION, OR FEEL THAT THE CHALLENGE WILL EXCEED YOUR PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES.  SHILOH73 IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INJURIES THAT OCCUR WHILE RETRIEVING THE GEOCACHE.  PLAY IT SAFE.
