Old Fence Traditional Geocache

This is one of a series of caches we placed on the old Oakdale asylum property.  There are still some evidence of the old buildings and infrastructure as you walk around.  Be careful as much of it is overgrown and there could be hidden hazards on the ground.  If you decide to park at the end of John Conley Drive, make sure you don't block the gate. 

This cache will take you down an old concrete road that was part of the Oakdale grounds.  I have done a lot of research on this old property and it is interesting to go out and walk around and picture in your mind what it may have been like 30 or 40 years ago here.  You will find old broken down fences and hedge rows that are over grown and out of control, but it is obvious that at one time they were probably meticulously maintained. 

This cache is a micro and log only.  You will need to BYOP.  Probably won't need an extraction tool but might be a good idea to have one handy just in case. The log is a "write in the rain" paper and if it gets wet, simply squeeze the water from it and it will dry almost right away so you can write on it. Please squeeze all the air from the ziplock baggie before zipping it tight. the container is not waterproof.
