Geocache Description:

The Key To The Farm

Permission given by Susan Chaisson, Owner

In 1798 Joseph Shields and his son Patrick bought adjacent tracts of land in Jackson County. The properties remained in the family throughout the centuries and today the remaining 152 acres serves as an outdoor, educational facility. Original outbuildings remain at the Shields-Ethridge Farm and in 1994 a non-profit organization was formed to preserve the irreplaceable structures and the land.

Cache is at the posted cords. Come one come all, this is one of the most serene sites in the entire series. You'll definitely want to plan a few extra minutes after you sign the log to walk around and take everything in.

Please be mindful of the age and significance of these buildings. Also, please do NOT hunt this cache at night. (There has been some vandalism in the past) It is not necessary to pull, push, pry, move, or break anything to find this cache. You are looking for a full size ammo can. You might want to rummage around GZ and see if you find anything that may be of use to you in your search. Be sure to look in every crack and crevice before you give up.
