Geocache Description:

Attached to the Faculty of Music of Oxford University is the Bate Collection of Musical Instruments - a collection of more than 2000 instruments, of which over 1000 are on display.

It is open every weekday afternoon and also Saturday mornings in university term-time. More information about workshops and half-term activities can be found on their website.

Admission is FREE.

Below are photos of some of the instruments in the collection – some of which can even be played by visitors.

Many thanks to Andy for providing the photos.

The above co-ordinates are those of the Bate Collection, but the cache isn’t there. It should take you around 15-20 minutes to walk to the cache from the Bate Collection. The cache is a medium-sized box with space for swaps and trackables. There may be nettles at GZ so please be careful.

SPOILER LOGS AND PHOTOS WILL BE DELETED!

You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.

UPDATE JULY 2017 The replacement cache had gone missing, so we have placed another cache in the original spot. Unfortunately there are quite a few nettles at GZ at the moment, so shorts and sandals are probably not a good idea - otherwise you'll be fine! Please don't go directly from the footpath to the cache - a more discreet (and relatively nettle-free!) route is possible.
