You are standing now on a mountain ridge having a great view on the valley of "Kappel" below. The traces of the mining for silver-ores can still be seen at the foot of the cliffs. There is 100 kilometers of tunnels still existing dating back to the middle ages. You can visit part of the historic mine at "Besucherbergwerk Schauinsland".
Sie stehen jetzt an der Hangkante nach Norden und blicken in das Kappler Tal. Unten erkennt man noch die Halden aus der Bergbauzeit. Den Schauinsland durchzieht ein Stolensystem von 100 Kilometern Länge aus der Zeit des Silberbergbaus im Mittelalter. Einen Teil der Stollen können Sie im "Besucherbergwek Schauinsland" besuchen!
