Soudain, à l'horizon, la liberté ...
Il y a 70 ans, le matin du 6 juin 1944, la mer se couvrit de bateaux et d'espoir : la liberté était en marche. Des milliers de jeunes soldats allèrent débarquer sur les plages de Normandie, et pour beaucoup, y laisser leur vie. C'était il y a maintenant longtemps mais la Normandie n'oublie pas et les Normands continuent d'honorer la mémoire des braves qui ont participé et qui se sont sacrifiés pour que cesse la barbarie, avec une pensée, maintenant les blessures pansées, pour tous ces jeunes Allemands qu'un fou a emmené mourir loin de leurs foyers pour un délire qui n'était pas le leur.
Le rendez-vous
Nous vous invitons donc ce dimanche 22 juin 2014 à 13h00 sur le parking au pied de la tour Vauban pour un rassemblement en mémoire du débarquement allié en Normandie, et des opérations qui suivirent qui constituent la bataille de Normandie jusqu'au 21 août 1944. Pour l'occasion nous aurons la chance de pouvoir combiner ce rassemblement à la recherche des caches de la série des Plages du Débarquement, créé par Lord Faa.
Plan d'attaque
13H00 : Rassemblement au PZ.
Dès que la brigade est au complet : Première partie du circuit des Plages du Débarquement. On part de Port-en-Bessin vers Longues-sur-Mer (à l'est) à pied, pour 14 caches sur environ 5 kilomètres. Il y a des passages de grimpette et de descente, il vaut mieux être équipé soldat, l'ennemi ne va pas vous laisser de répit !
Une fois le secteur nettoyé : Retour vers Port-en-Bessin à pied, et pause à Commes au niveau d'une aire de pique-nique. Photos de la brigade et autres réjouissances de type "Enfin on se pose".
Deuxième vague : Retour sur Port-en-Bessin. Pour les plus courageux de la brigade, deuxième partie de la série vers "Omaha" (à l'ouest) : 6 caches sur environ 3 kilomètres. L'ennemi est coriace de ce côté aussi, vérifiez que vous en êtes capable !
Cessez-le-feu : Retour vers Port-en-Bessin, une dernière fois. Adieux déchirants sur le parking ... jusqu'au prochain event.
À propos du circuit des Plages du Débarquement
Comme vous avez pu le constater, ce n'est pas une boucle, malgré tous les efforts de Lord Faa, ce n'était pas possible. Donc à chaque fois, il va falloir revenir à pied. Préparez-vous donc à marcher ! Il y a possibilité si vous le pouvez, et si vous avez plusieurs véhicules, d'en garer aux batteries de Longues-sur-Mer. Attention au retour on fait une pause à Commes, où il y a un parking aussi. La marche plus la recherche de caches, vous allez vous mettre dans des conditions de guerre, bande de salopiauds !

Suddenly, on the sea , freedom ...
70 years ago, on the morning of June 6, 1944 , the sea was covered with boats and hope : freedom was coming. Thousands of young soldiers went ashore on the beaches of Normandy, and many died there. It was a long time ago but now Normandy do not forget and Normans continue to honor the memory of the braves who participated and who sacrificed themselves to put an end to barbarism, with a thought, now that time has healed wounds, for all these young Germans a psycho took away from their homes to die for a delirium that was not theirs.
The meeting
We invite you this Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 13:00 (01:00 PM) on the parking lot in front of the Vauban tower for a rally in memory of the Normandy Landings and ensuing operations that constitute the Battle of Normandy which lasted until 21 August 1944. On this occasion we'll have the opportunity to combine this gathering with the search of the caches in the Normandy Landing Beaches series, created by Lord Faa.
The Plan
01:00 AM : Rendez-vous.
Once the brigade is ready : First part of the circuit from the Normandy Landings Beaches series. We start at Port-en-Bessin and go to Longues-sur-mer (eastward), a walk for 14 geocaches and about 3 miles. This is not a gentle walk for grandmas, you'd better be equipped soldier, the enemy will not let you rest!
Once the area cleaned : Back to Port-en-Bessin on foot, and a well deserved break at Commes, in a picnic area. Photos of the brigade and other festivities like "At least some goddamn rest."
Second wave : Back to Port-en-Bessin. For the bravest of the brigade, the second part of the series to "Omaha Beach" (westward) : 6 geocaches for about 2 miles. The enemy is tough on this side too, make sure you can do it!
Cease-fire : Return to Port-en-Bessin. Heartbreaking farewell in the parking lot ... until the next event !
About the circuit of the Normandy Landings Beaches series
As you can see, this is not a loop, despite all the efforts of Lord Faa, it was not possible. So every time, you'll have to walk back. Get ready to walk ! There is possibility if you can, and if you have several vehicles, to park at Longues-sur-Mer. Be aware than on the way back, we pause at Commes, where there is parking too. Walking and search for caches will get the best out of yourself, get ready for the challenge !
