Cache N°13 : Table d'orientation Bernard Deloison
Juste avant d’arriver à Boat-Pass, le point le plus au nord de la Grande Terre, obliquez vers le relais de Poingam, table d’hôte et gîte réputé pour son ambiance décontractée et conviviale. La table d’hôte s’attache à présenter le plus possible de produits de la région ou du potager bio : tartiflette de langouste, carpaccio de bénitier, plateau de crabes, saumonée au pourpier de mer et riz safrané ou encore cochon grillé à la broche…
Le Relais de Poingam est situé sur une vaste propriété coutumière. Plusieurs sentiers pédagogiques balisés en libre accès y ont été tracés et agrémentés de panneaux originaux, vous permettant de découvrir de magnifiques points de vue sur le Grand Nord de la Grande Terre et les nombreux îlots qui la prolongent, et jusqu’aux îles Belep au nord par temps clair. Vous pourrez observer les oiseaux et les chevaux sauvages, visiter la distillerie d’huiles essentielles de niaouli et les marais salants artisanaux, et pour finir longer aussi l’interminable plage aux teintes cuivrée…
Une étape idéale pour un moment de détente en famille loin, très loin du monde ! Prévoyez les indispensables du randonneur (chapeau, chaussures fermées, réserve d’eau…).

Just before arriving at Boat-Pass, the northernmost point of the New Caledonia’s main island, turn off towards the Relais de Poingam, a host’s table and gîte well known for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The host’s table is focused on presenting as many regional products and organic vegetables as possible: lobster tartiflette (made with potatoes and cheese), carpaccio de bénitier (giant clam), crab platter, saumonée au pourpier de mer (coral trout with sea purslane) and saffron rice or cochon grillé à la broche (spit-roasted pork)...
The Relais de Poingam is located on a vast property under traditional custom ownership. Several educational tracks open to everyone have been marked out, and indicated with original signs. They take you to magnificent lookouts over the Far North of New Caledonia’s main island and the many islets extending from it, with a view in fine weather as far as the Belep islands in the north. You can observe the birds and wild horses, visit the niaouli distillery and the Kô salt marshes, and finish by walking along the endless beach with its copper tints...
An ideal stage for relaxing with the family a long way, a very long way from the world! Make sure you take the hiker’s essentials (hat, closed-toe shoes, water supply, etc.).
