Geocache Description:

Village signs is a series of caches based on the ornate signs that depict the heritage, history and culture of the villages that put them up (normally on the village green!).

The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates

Visit the published coordinates to look at the telegraph pole where you can also see the village sign.

Check out the number underneath DP on the telegraph pole. This is ABC

The cache can be found at N51 55.(AxA)(A+B+B)(A-A) W000 12.(A+B+C)(A+A+B+C)(AxA)

Graveley is a village and civil parish about four miles east of Hitchin and two miles north of Stevenage. It is built on what used to be known as the Great North Road. There are a number of attractive cottages and houses. Graveley church (St Mary's) dates back to the 12th century. There were once two churches when Graveley was formerly known as Graveley-cum-Chisfield. Chesfield is a short distance to the east of Graveley where the ruins of the second church, a 14th century structure can be seen in the fields.

The cache is a short walk from the village sign, you'll need some info from nearby it but you won't need to go climbing all over it!

If anybody would like to expand this series please do. I would just ask that you let SmokeyPugs know first so they can keep track of the Village Sign numbers and names to avoid duplication.
