法明寺
Homyoji Temple
嵯峨天皇の代の弘仁元年（810）、真言宗の旧跡で威光寺として開創された。
正和元年（1312）、日蓮聖人の弟子で中老僧の一人、日源上人が日蓮宗に改宗、威光山法明寺と寺号を改めた。また徳川3代将軍・家光公より御朱印を受け、その後も将軍家の尊崇を受け、折りごとに多くの寄進を受けた。
関東大震災で本堂が倒壊、昭和7年に再興するが昭和20年の戦災で全山焼失。昭和34年に本堂を再建、さらに昭和37年客殿庫裡を竣工した。昭和43年には鐘楼ならびに山門の復興も完了、ほぼ寺内の偉容を旧に復した。名刹の鬼子母神堂を擁する。

キャッシュは寺外なので、24時間アクセスは可能です。
桜の木がたくさんあるので、お花見の季節に、マッグルが非常に多いのでSTEALTHが必須です。
お昼の時も周辺のビジネス人々がここでお昼を食べますので、お勧めするところです。

The temple was first consecrated in 810, as an historic location for Shingon Buddhism, during the first year of Emperor Saga.
One of the prestigious priests converted to Nichiren Buddhism around 1312. The temple received special recognition from the third Tokugawa
Shogun, and from that point on received many alms from the shogunate.
The main hall was destroyed in the 1932 Great Kanto Earthquake. Then during the air raids of 1945, the entire temple was destroyed by fire.
The main hall was rebuilt in 1959, and the priests' living quarters in 1962.
The Main Gate and Bell Tower were restored in 1968 nearly to their original condition. The bell can be seen resting in dignity within the temple grounds.
During the temple's heyday back in the early part of this millennium, Homyoji was the head temple for 14 other temples.
Homyoji temple is connected to Kishibojin, directly down the street.
(And there is another geocache down there, too!) If you walk under the cherry trees to the very end, and then keep walking straight you will find Kishibojin, as well a Japan's oldest candy store, and a HUGE, ancient ginkgo tree. This tree is the second oldest ginkgo in Japan and is designated as a protected treasure of the country.
Homyoji temple gates are not open 24 hours, however the temple can be visited from the side road. BUT, as there are security lights and sensors within the grounds, it is NOT recommended to visit when the gates are closed. As the cache is NOT located within the temple grounds proper, this is not a problem.
From the temple gate, you can walk under extremely old and beautiful cherry blossom trees. The scenery is very peaceful, and quite inviting. Many company people and students in the area eat their lunch in this area. It is highly recommended to visit.
During the cherry blossom season, this area is teeming with muggles so you will need to be extremely careful when searching for the cache.
Enjoy the Sakura trees and look at them carefully. They are fascinating.
The cache is NOT within the temple proper, and CAN be accessed 24/7.
