Geocache Description:

A cache on the site of the former station at Hinton on the Green. Part of the side tracked series.

There is no station at Hinton on the Green any more. Indeed, there is no railway line anywhere near it. However, it used to have a station on the Evesham-Cheltenham line. It opened on 1st July 1864 and was closed 99 years later in 1963.

There are a few clues that the station used to be here.  The most obvious is the road name - "Station Road". Secondly, as you approach ground zero from the suggested parking, you will notice that you go up a slight rise. This is actually a bridge over what was the railway. The line went through a cutting south of the station. The line of trees that you can see to the south follow the route of the cutting. If you take the footpath to the west of GZ towards Sedgeberrow you will pass through the cutting.

As you stand at GZ, the station would have been to your north, where the industrial units now are.

You are looking for a bison tube.
