A short, relatively easy hike through an urban forest in the Petticoat Creek watershed area. Wear your rubbers as portions of the trail are muddy in the Spring and when it rains!
Stonehedge cache is a 1kg honey container and initially contained the following:-
Men's Cardinal dress watch (working)
- Community Newsletter
- Geo-Quilt Square (please follow instructions attached to square)
- Great Blue Heron Casino matches
- Wayne Gretzky Hockey card
- Cuban currency
- Log Book and Pen
Although you might not see them during the day, a pack of coyote lives in this area. If you have keen eyesight you can see the path leading to their den as it runs off the main trail near parking. This forest/meadow area is the southern part of a 53 hectare urban forest that encompasses the Dr. J. Murray Speirs Ecological Reserve. You will see lots of birds in the area and, if you're really lucky, deer, rabbit, coyote and fox. Wild turkey were recently spotted in the northern part of the forest. Take a few minutes to read the Community Newsletter.
