Geocache Description:

If doing this caching series in winter best to start with Cravedale & work back towards The Whaling Station as the loosely defined path is prone to being wet, mucky & quite a challenge for the less experienced hill walker. Suitable walking boots & waterproofs required. This series will also take a good 7 hours to complete, maybe more so bear in mind when planning your day.

The Old Whaling Station - Bunavoneader ( Bunabhainneadar ) - a chimney and a few ruins - and a few whale bones are now all that is left of a once thriving whaling industry in the Western Isles.

More information can be found about this amazing site & its history at the attached link.

Please note that to find the cache it is not necessary to disturb the site in any manner & to do so would be unwise with evidence of its decay all around.
