Geocache Description:

Here is the next set of caches along the South County Trail. Trying to continue on with H2"O"s great work on the North County Trail.

The South County Trailway is a 14.1-mile (22.7 km) long trail stretching from Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx to Elmsford in Westchester, NY. Construction started in the 1990s and was completed in 2011.  Most sections of the trailway are paved.  This was once the part of the New York Central Railroad system.

Poison Ivy is very common along this trail, but I did my best to avoid it.

The cache is a camoed medium sized lock and lock container.  The cache is accessible from the paved trailway with a little bushwack.
The colossal wall here was begging for a cache.  2 things were preventing that:
1.  The caches across the parkway, and
2.  The DOT would probably not appeciate people climbing on thier retaining wall.
Fortunately I found an interesting water crossing in the area that was less intrusive.

Parking is available at the posted coordinates.
