You had been planning to take your kids - Annie and Benny - and some of their friends - Connie, Danny, Ennie and little Fritz- out for a fun caching trip today, but the heavy rain put the kaibosh on that idea.  The kids are good sports about it though, and decided that they would sit around your kitchen table and play a game of Clue.  You lost the board for the game long ago, but you still have all the cards, tokens, and weapons.  Without the board, the kids play a modified version of the game using these rules:

1. They sit around the table in alphabetical order: ABCDEF.  Turns and reveals go in that same order, looping back to Annie after Fritz.

2. One suspect, one weapon, and one room card are randomly chosen and set aside.  The remaining 18 cards are shuffled together and dealt out to the players, resulting in each child receiving three cards.

3. On each player's turn they accuse any one suspect, any one weapon, and any one room.

4. The next player in order, if he/she has any of the named three cards, shows the accuser exactly one of those three.  If not, then the next person in line would show the accuser a card if he/she has one, rinse and repeat.  After one player has shown one card to the accuser, that accuser's turn ends and the next player in line takes a turn.

5. The cards are revealed to the accuser only, not to the entire table.

6. The winner of the game is whoever first determines the set aside Suspect, Weapon, and Room

7. The kids are all extremely honest (and as mentioned above, good sports) and always show a proper card if they are required to.  No cheaters in this group!

You watch the kids playing, thinking about all the caches you would have gotten today, and notice the following play out:

Annie accuses Professor Plum with the Revolver in the Dining Room--Danny shows her a card

Benny accuses Miss Scarlet with the Lead Pipe in the Lounge--Ennie shows him a card

You look outside and see that the rain has stopped, the sun has come out, and it is now a beautiful day to go caching. "C'mon, let's hit the trails," you say.

"But we're not done with our game," Annie says. "we can't go until we're done"

"Well then," says little Fritz (who loves caching most of all). "Let's end this game. The murderer, weapon and location are....."
