WWFM XI - Guernsey Bubbles World Wide Flash Mob Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Simply Paul: A little late on archiving this due to other travels - sorry.
A huge Thank You! to everyone who came along and bubbled and popped with me on a warm evening above St Peter Port for this quickie event. Glad I made it in time; it was a pretty close-run thing! Lovely to meet you all and I hope you've put your AANDs to use, or dropped them into caches. Event photos will follow on my Attended log, so pop this meet in your watch list if you'd like to see them (so many caches/events to catch up on!) and thanks for uploading yours. Some crackers in there. My second Flashmob event, and another success, I think [:)]

Geocache Description:

A Flashmob Caching meet as part of WWFM XI

A 15 minute gathering of Geocachers. Short but sweet,
you MUST be present during this short window to claim
to have attended this event!

The World Wide Flash Mob Event.

An amazing 788 WWFM XI cache events all over the world - 52 countries - coordinated to happen at the same time to bring together Geocachers, and maybe introduce others to Geocaching. In 2013, 558 'WWFM X' events were held in 42 countries and attended by over 25,000 cachers!

Of course, Flash Mobs are nothing new, but the Podcacher WWFM events are specific ones for geocachers; see the PodCacher WWFM Info or GAGB listing page for more info.

At precisely 6.00pm on 7th June 2014 you are invited to join us in the sunken gardens to take part in a flash mob event. To follow the WWFM format, the event will last EXACTLY 15 minutes, not a second longer!

The theme of the event is bubbles - so, if possible, then please bring some along. Any bubbles will do from kids' bubble-blowers to bubble-wrap (you must pop them all on-site though!) and even a bottle of something bubbly (popular colas included -I’m sure you get the idea)!

Prior To The Event: Head towards the event co-ordinates and pretend you are a muggle. Act casual. Keep your bubbles hidden away from view until the event starts.

At exactly 6pm a whistle will be blown at GZ. This signifies the start of the event and everyone should at this moment pull out their bubbles and head for GZ, popping, blowing or fizzing. Quickly sign the log book as it's passed around. There will just be time to exchange Travel Bugs and Geocoins too.

The event will last exactly 15 minutes, giving time for a group photo and one name to be selected at random from attendees and declared FTF, then at 6:15pm everyone will pack up their bubble-related item/s and disperse leaving any muggles wondering what on earth just happened.

I hosted the Geolympix Flashmob two years ago and it went really well so I thought I'd do another and this year's WWFM event happens to fall when I'm on Guernsey, on the very day I'm walking the coast path. Starting at 4.30am, I'll be here 38+ miles later... Hope to see you all here - If you see a bald man walking slowly and carefully, that could well be me ;)
