Cemetery is situated about 1 km south from Cierzpięty village. Situated on the battlefield, currently lies on the edge of forest and meadow. Monument conmemorating the dead was unveiled on 2nd September of 1915. Inscription on the monument proclaimed:
"Gefechte bei Seehöhe • 1914 - 1915".
One of people who were present at the ceremony of unveiling was Paul von Hindenburg. There lie 73 German and 63 Russian army soldiers, most of them are unknown.
I don't upload any current pictures, because I think that comparising historical photos with the present may be very interesting for geocachers ;)
How to get there? Bikers can reach the place easily. You just have to ride from Orzysz through Góra to the Cierzpięty and turn left to the forest just before the village. Drivers should leave the car before the village at the glade near the forest and have a 300 meters walk.
The cache is located precisely under the coordinates. It's possible that there will be some forestry works be done in the neighbourhood soon, so please be careful!

Cmentarz położony jest ok. 1 km na południe od wsi Cierzpięty. Założony na polu bitewnym, obecnie znajduje się na skraju lasu i łąk. Pomnik upamiętniający poległych został odsłonięty 2 września 1915 r. Można było na nim odczytać napis: "Gefechte bei Seehöhe • 1914 - 1915". W uroczystości odsłonięcia pomnika brał udział m.in. Paul von Hindenburg. Pochowano tu 73 żołnierzy niemieckich i 63 rosyjskich, w większości nieznanej tożsamości. Nie zamieszczam aktualnych zdjęć, gdyż myślę, że zderzenie się historii z teraźniejszością może być dla poszukiwaczy bardzo ciekawe ;)
Jak dotrzeć? Dla poruszających się rowerami dotarcie na miejsce nie sprawi żadnego problemu, wystarczy jechać od Orzysza przez Górę w stronę wsi Cierzpięty i tuż przed wsią skręcić w stronę lasu. Zmotoryzowanym polecam pozostawienie samochodu przed wsią, na polanie pod lasem i przejście pieszo ok. 300 metrów.
Skrzynka znajduje się na terenie cmentarza. Możliwe, że w najbliższym czasie w okolicy cmentarza będą miały miejsce prace związane z wycinką drzew i urządzaniem szlaku turystycznego - proszę uważać!
