Geocache Description:

This is number ten of a series of ten Geocaches placed along the Cliff Walk between Bray & Greystones.

The Greystones to Bray Cliff Walk is a beautiful scenic walk that meanders along the east coast of Wicklow between Greystones & Bray. The walk is approximately 6K in length and is level most of the way. End to end the walk should take approximately two hours to complete. The walk can be either started at Greystones Harbour, or from Bray at the southern end of the promenade. At the end of the walk you can get the train back to your starting point.

The Cliff Walk was initially developed in the 1840’s to faceplate access for materials and workers to the cliff face during the construction of the railway between Bray & Greystones. Lord Meath provided the route along the Cliff Walk to the railway company for free as he didn't want the alternative route to divide his land. As a result, this stretch of railway is one of the most expensive in Ireland due to the engineering complexity required to build it.

As well as the beautiful scenery the Cliff Walk is home to different types of seabirds and various types of colourful wildflowers. Dolphins, black harbour porpoises and basking sharks are known to swim in the waters around the Cliff off of Bray Head.

A Distant Memory is either the start or end of the series depending on which side you started on. The name refers to the new marina development, 8 years ago the area was a different place, with split opinions on whether its been a good or bad thing! (A bus stops a 5 minute walk away, and the DART station is 15mins away with a couple caches along the way.)

Here is a complete list of the caches in this series:

There are also a number of caches along the walk that are not part of the series:
