Star Wars: Luke Skywalker
From the pond follow the trail past the large oak tree into the woodland and past a Forest School site on your left. Forest School is a Scandinavian idea in which young children visit the woodland site once a week for the entire school year to build confidence and skills in the outdoors. The site and all the structures on it have been constructed by BTEC students for use by local primary schools.
Continue from here to the bridge, one of our biggest projects to date. This required huge amounts of teamwork from the students to get the timbers in place and construct such a sturdy bridge.
Here you can choose to go up the hill to the bird hide looking out over the reed bed (and also to two more of this series), or continue along the boardwalk and cross the reedbed (which takes you to the location of the Talking Trees multi, although I'm not giving any more hints than that!).
The reedbed is an extremely valuable habitat, which is very rare across the country and supports some rare species. The woodland in this area is dominated by ash trees of a similar age..
The cache is a small clip lock box, big enough for a few swaps and small TBs. It should have a pencil.
I have deleted the car park co-ordinates as it has been fenced off, so please use the golfers car park on the left as you drive up the hill.
