A 2 880 km des côtes de la Réunion, au sein des Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises (TAAF) se trouve l’île d’Amsterdam. Etant l’une des îles les plus isolées du monde, la plus grande difficulté de cette cache sera déjà de se rendre sur Ams’ ! Attention donc à ne pas rater l’un des 4 départs annuels du Marion Dusfrene…
La cache se situe non loin de la chapelle Notre-Dame de l’Ocean et est accessible facilement sans sortir de la base. Inutile de prévoir une expédition sur 4 jours, vous devriez pouvoir vous en sortir seul. Attention en revanche aux éléphants de mer qui pourraient vous barrer la route.
Cette cache a été posée par l’Adjudant Chef Stéphane CANO, chef garage de la 64ème mission (2012-2013) et descendant de Juan Sebastian El Cano, l’explorateur ayant découvert l’île en 1522.
Vous cherchez une boîte à pellicule. Merci de bien remettre la cache en place, une maintenance étant difficilement envisageable, ou en tout cas, pas tout de suite…
Si l’envie vous prend de continuer à geocacher, la cache la plus proche se trouve à 1560km de là, direction nord-ouest.

2 880 km away from the french Reunion Island, within the French Southern and Antarctic Lands, is Amsterdam Island. Being one of the most isolated island in the world, the biggest difficultie for this cache will be to get to Ams' ! Therefore, be careful not to miss one of the Marion Dusfrene's 4 annual departures...
The cache is located not far from the chapel Notre-Dame de l'Ocean and can easily be reached without getting out of the base. No need then to plan a 4-days trip, you should be able to get there on your own. Watch out for any sea elephant that may stand in your way though.
This cache was hidden by Adjudant-chef (chief warrant officer) Stéphane Cano, garage's chief during the 64th mission (2012-2013) and descendant of Juan Sebastian El Cano, the explorer who first discovered the island in 1522.
You're looking for a film canister. Please, put the cache back where it belongs, as a maintenance would be hard to make, or at least, not for now...
