Geocache Description:

About 3.3 miles on Five Kezar Ponds Road from Melby's (Tut's) Store in North Waterford, Maine This is a great trip on a hot day, take care by the falls because it can be slippery.

KEZAR FALLS GORGE

In 1766, a man named Georg Ebenezer Kezar, a trapper from Canterbury, New Hampshire traveled through out this area. Legend has that while following the Pequawkett Indian trail he was chased by the Indians & forced to jump the gorge in order to escape the Indians. This was how the name came about, Kezar Falls. The story is told that several years later, Kezar was attacked by a bear. The bear lost its life & Kezar lost his arm.
The Pequawkett Indians are a tribe from Fryburg. Their trail went around Bear Pond, South Waterford, over Beech Hill, North Waterford and branched at the base of Baldpate Mountain, North Waterford.

Once you get close you will need to look for a big split bolder and move some rocks to reveal the treasure.
