Hurricane's final rest Traditional Geocache

A chance to geocache as well as visit a point of interest in Whitelee. Reaching the cache is on trails most the way, but there is some off-track at the end that involves going over wet ground and down a banking

There are a number of entrance points that can be used to reach this cache and all make use of the windfarm tracks, but once in the vicinity, it's off track and over peatbog for the final stretch. The cache is within Whitelee forest but the area around the cache has been recently felled. Look out for the trees teeming with small birds and other wildlife when in the area. The final walk in, depending on the route chosen, can entail going down a banking, hopping over a stream and traversing some wet peatbog - all in a days fun for a geocacher!
