At the 2013 Ice Walk a number of door prizes were awarded to participants and kc.butt was the lucky winner of a micro cache container. Since she was not present at the time of the draw I offered to hide the cache container in her honour. So, here it is, already to go for Ice Walk 2014.
For all of those seeking this cache, please note that in the winter it can be a gruelling snowshoe hike across an expanse of ice over to Cocagne Island. When hidden there were snowdrifts across the ice and we often were sinking up to our knees despite the snowshoes. The previous year, it was a treacherous walk requiring a good pair of crampons to grab a grip on the ice. Of course you could do this by snowmobile!
In the summer, well, this is an island! Some mode of transportation will be required to get you across the open water. Then there will be the issue of mosquitoes.
Hence, the degree of difficulty for the terrain. Forewarned is forearmed. Happy hunting! You are looking for a camoe'd pill bottle. Easy hide once you get there!
