Friday in Islamic culture is a "Sunday" where Youssef generally has closed and the cache is not loggable (please check attributes).
History of that Cache
After a desert trip in the Sahara, I spent a few days in Marrakech. On the way through the middle of the Medina, I met "Youssef" in his little workshop where he produces by handcraft some “Babouche” (tradinional Marocan slippers). For a few Euros I ordered custom made “Babouches” and told him to come back the next day. He wanted a deposit, but I assured him that I really will come back. When I appeared the next morning, he could not believe his eyes and said I was the first tourist who found back in the winding streets of the Medina. During a friendly tea-ceremony I explained him the GPS and promised to return on my next trip – when ever it is.
Just one year later, I visited him again. We spontaneously took the idea to install a genuine Medina-Cache by engage Youssef as a kind of “Cache-Guard” because the Medina has 1'000 eyes :-) He was very amused and so together we tinkered a Cache-Box.
As the Medina has thousand of eyes, it is necessary to install such a large cachebox by taking the support of a cache keeper. Please take note that you do not have to buy anything except you want to make some purchases completely voluntary. Be aware of the Moroccan culture where it is common to sell something and never feel under pressure at the friendly Medina.
