Halle (Saale) ist eine kreisfreie Großstadt
im Süden von Sachsen-Anhalt und liegt an der Saale.

Mit mehr als 230.000 Einwohnern ist Halle
die größte Stadt und eines der drei Oberzentren
des Landes sowie Sitz des Landesverwaltungsamtes.

Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung datiert auf das Jahr 806 n. Chr.
Die Einwohnerzahl der Stadt überschritt 1890 die Grenze von 100.000,
wodurch Halle zur Großstadt wurde.
