When looking for somewhere to hide the cache I spotted a beautiful kingfisher flying along the brook hence the name.

Isleham Nature Reserve
Isleham Local Nature Reserve (LNR) is a linear site of about 2 hectares in size. It lies between the villages of Isleham and Fordham, amongst arable farmland. In the summer months there is an abundance of wildflowers and butterflies. The disused railway line is designated as a County Widlife Site to recognise the importance of its calcareous grassland within the county.
The rich grassland is lined either side with hedgerows consisting of species such as field hawthorn, dogwood and wild privet. The site is a disused railway line, closed in the 1960’s. Adjacent to the LNR is a large field, also owned by Cambridgeshire County Council and managed by a tenant farmer who welcomes the public to use the field.
Management
The Friends of Isleham Nature Reserves and Cambridgeshire County Council manage the LNR.
Volunteer work parties over winter cut back scrub and sections of the hedge row to uncover more of the chalk grassland areas.
Some sections of the bank are also being cleared to create habitat for Solitary bees, wasps and reptiles such as grass snakes and common lizards. A contractor cuts the grassland areas every September, rakes the cuttings and puts them in compost piles around the site.

- Wildflowers such as Field Scabious, Greater Knapweed, Broom Rape, St John’s Wort, Wild Marjoram, Tufted Vetch, Salad Burnet and Bladder Campion.
- Butterflies such as Common Blue, Small Heath, Ringlets, Commas, Meadow Browns and Peacocks.

- Birds such as Sky Larks, Yellow Hammer and Bullfinch
