Geocache Description:

A small piece of ancient Rome has found its way to Mount Kuring-gai raising questions as to whether or not the Romans were the first Europeans to discover the famed southern continent, hundreds of years before Captain Cook landed at Botany Bay.

The location of the evidence of Rome's southern conquest may be found by unraveling the clues in the photo below.

6/4/2014 Note cache was moved slightly to solve a dampness problem. Updated coordinates provided with the Geocheck.

Parking at end of Mundowi Road near start location. The evidence was reportedly found off track sometime ago... through thick bush over a few sandstone ledges-a bit of a bash required. While on the hunt stop to enjoy the views over Lyrebird Gully on the west side of the ridge line as you walk along the track. Watch your step and keep an eye on the geokids if present. Prize for FTF is first pick of the swaps.

FTF: Uno modo, ad explorandum sit (First to view the evidence) BAKTRAK: Veni, Vidi, Vici!
