Description of the geocache :
The Turtle of the Belle-Poule was dismantled in 2009.
This small cubicle is located at the stern of some schooners, among which the two training ships of the Marine Nationale called l'Etoile and la Belle-Poule.
This small cubicle or deckhouse used to shelter the radio-operator until the 1970s, or the helmsman in case of bad weather.
Nowadays, communications have been moved to a place more fitted to modern technology and the turtle is used to store the flags and some safety vests ; however it is still a shelter for the helmsman and props the mainsail boom when it is lowered. In this place you can also find the spare helm and access to the tiller mechanism.
At the coordinates N 48°46.718 W 003°02.707, you will see an information sign where you can find useful data to determine the exact coordinates of the cache.

B = number of letters in the name of la Belle Poule 's sister-ship. (without the definite articles)
C = the last digit of the year of the last restoration of la Belle Poule
D = second-to-last digit of the year when la Belle Poule was built for the Marine Nationale.

W 003° 02.[A][A-D][C-[A+D]]
The cache is magnetic.
