Man of Steel~Halls of Justice Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

~DeShazo~: I was told by the historical commission of Birmingham a few months ago that this day was soon coming. The land the cache is on is being leveled and revitalized for new development. Sadly, I'm having to archive this cache.

Geocache Description:

The “Man of Steel” series is not for the faint of heart. It will push the superhero in you to your limits. You will face many obstacles, and as any superhero does, you must rise to the challenge and conquer your fears. You will have to fly to soaring heights, chase villains into subterranean hideouts, leap tall buildings with a single bound, and be faster than a locomotive.

The Man of Steel left a box hidden here at the Halls of Justice. This box is sealed and full of kryptonite that could render Superman powerless if it fell into the wrong hands. He needs you to go by and check to make sure it is still there and hasn't fallen into Lex Luthor's hands.

You will NOT be able to complete this cache without the proper equipment. As with any 5/5 cache you MUST be safety conscious and use all your safety equipment as it was intended to be used for your protection. You can die doing any 5/5 caches, do NOT gamble with your life if you aren’t properly trained to use your equipment to retrieve these caches. Never do this cache alone in case you should need assistance. Have fun, but most of all BE SAFE!

This series is named after the “Man of Steel” because this area was once the home of the WORLDS LARGEST steel mill. It started producing steel in the late 1800’s and continued manufacturing until it closed down in the mid 1980’s. There is lots of interesting history still left here to see. I talked to local law enforcement and they are ok with people exploring but advised that it could take a while for EMS to access you should you need medical attention.

AT ALL TIMES please watch where you are stepping. I’ve seen several openings that you could fall into if not paying attention. There is actually a cache at one of them but you will actually know about it when approaching. Again, BE SAFE and have fun.
