Geocache Description:

Let's do it again!

The 2011 and 2012 SAGA events both were a resounding success, so after much deliberation, the SAGA13 committee decided, to do it all again!

Same place, same time (1pm), but due to the impending Oz Mega event, a different date: Please mark Sunday March 23rd in your geocaching diary as 'a must attend day'!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update March 20:
Due to the unavailability of the original location the event has been moved to Drage reserve in Felixstowe. The coordinates have been updated. See you all there!

Update February 15:
You've made the nominations, we tallied the votes. Now it's time to find out who you think are the best of the best caches in 2013. Just click on the link to submit your votes: SAGA13 Voting Form

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The SAGA celebrate the best of what SA has to offer and recognises the amazing and selfless effort cache owners go to, to provide their caching colleagues with unforgettable experiences.
All caches placed in South Australia between 1st of January 2013 and 31 December 2013 are eligible for nomination. The placed date and location will be officially determined by the GC.com cache page.

The voting process for this year’s SAGA is very similar to last year’s:

In the middle of January we will post a link to a ‘Nominations’ website. This allows you to nominate caches in each of the categories. In order to help with collating the data and to reduce errors, some of these categories we have made a suggestion for. These suggestions are based on the number and/or percentage of favourite points these caches have received. It is also worth noting that these were the only criteria as the pre-selections were made with the CO name and cache name hidden from view.
However, you can still nominate any cache (as long as it matches the criteria for the category). Other categories do not have suggestions yet as these categories are a bit more subjective.

In February we will review the nominations and in each category we will short list the caches with most nominations. The number will be reduced to between 5 and 10. The final number in each category may vary slightly to allow for ties in the nomination process. In other categories there may be a clear group of 6 or 7 and a gap to the 8th most nominated cache in which case we will select all of these 6 or 7 for the final shortlist. Again this process will be conducted with CO names and Cache name hidden.
Shortly thereafter we will post a new link to a VOTING website. You can now only choose from the shortlist and the additional requirement is that you will have had to have physically found the cache you vote for.
The three highest vote getters will be presented with an award at the event. There will be no tie breaks so in the event of a tie for first we will present 2 golds and a bronze and in the event of a tie for second there will be one gold and 2 silvers. Only when there is a tie for 3rd there will be an additional award.
The SAGA committee aims to be as transparent as possible on these voting procedures, hence the rather verbose introduction. If you still have questions on the process, do not hesitate to contact us.

This year's categories are:

Update January 12:
After last year’s awards we conducted a survey to get your feedback on how to improve the SAGA. 39 teams took the time to respond and the feedback overwhelmingly supported the current format. You can view the survey results at: SAGA Survey
