Das Aineck ist ein zentraler Gipfel der Skischaukel Katschberg-Aineck.
2009 eröffnete die Katschbergbahnen GmbH eine neue Umlaufkabinenbahn von St. Margarethen auf das Aineck. Sie dient als Aufstiegshilfe für eine der längsten Skiabfahrten Österreichs, die 5,5 Kilometer lange, so genannte A1. Der Silverjet 2 ist eine der längsten Kabinenbahnen im Gebiet von Aineck.
1957 baute Matthias Bogensperger den ersten Schilift auf das Tschaneck. Das gesamte Schigebiet baute er in den Jahren 1957 bis 1997 zu einem der größten privaten Schigebiete mit 10 Liften aus. Heute erstreckt sich die Schischaukel Katschberg-Aineck mit 16 Liften und 60 km Pisten vom Tschaneck (2024 m) über das Aineck (2210 m) bis nach St. Margarethen im Lungau. Im Jahre 2001 ging die Beschneiungsanlage in Betrieb und es folgte eine Erweiterung und Modernisierung der Liftanlagen. Der Katschberg besitzt auch eine 16 km lange Höhenloipe für sportliche Langläufer (1640 bis 1750 m).
Der Berg ist bei Paragleitern und Drachenfliegern als Flugberg beliebt, allerdings im Sommer nur für erstere über den Sessellift vom Katschberg aus erreichbar.

The Aineck is a central summit of the skiing-area Katschberg-Aineck. In 2009 the Katschbergbahnen GmbH opened a new circulation cabin road of Saint Margarethen onto the Aineck. It serves as a rise help to one of the longest ski departures of Austria, the 5.5-kilometre-long, so-called A1. The Silverjet 2 is one of the longest cabin roads in the area of Aineck.
In 1957 Matthias Bogensperger built the first ski lift on the Tschaneck. He developed the whole ski area in the years from 1957 to 1997 to one of the biggest private ski areas with 10 lifts. Today there applies the skiing-area Katschberg-Aineck with 16 lifts and 60 km of runways of the Tschaneck (in 2024 m) about the Aineck (in 2210 m) to Saint Margarethen in the Lungau. Since 2001 artificial snow can be produced an enlargement and modernisation of the lift arrangements followed. The mountain Katsch also owns a 16-km-long height cross-country trail for sporty cross-country skiers (from 1640 to 1750 m).
The mountain is liked with Paragleitern and hang-gliders as a flight mountain, indeed, in summer only can be reached by the armchair lift from the mountain Katsch.
