This was my first trip to Ulumay and I ended up in some places I wondered if I should have been kayaking with a friend. This was one of those places. The shortest distance between two caches is a straight line and this canal is a pretty straight line between them. The shortest distance is not always the easiest. In high water this should be easy. If the water is much lower than it was today you will be Heading into trouble. The coords could be ten feet off. The iphone and the handheld were arguing.
In mid-December in 7 miles of paddling I only saw one mosquito and one gator.
Just a side note - in low water those nice open areas off the canal will take you no where...
