Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT AT POSTED COORDS!!

Platt Hill State Park seems to have been forgot about as time has past! I recently stopped in and enjoyed a walk around while taking in the scenery. A nice little park that offers fields, trails, views, a picnic area, etc. Gate is open during the summer months(daylight hours only) but remains closed during the winter months(room for a couple cars near gate when closed). Hope you enjoy your walk around while visiting!!

The cache is a homemade device called a cryptex and requires an eight-letter word combination to gain entrance to the cache log. Please DO NOT force it open. When you discover the eight-letter word combination, the inner tube easily slides apart from the outer tube. Using the eight-letter combination Locate the left and right alignment marks on the cryptex that are marked, Turn each dial until the center of the desired letter is in the alignment mark. Proceed with each of the eight (8) letters. Gently pull the two cryptex tubes apart. The log book is located inside the inner tube. After logging your find Replace the log book into the inner tube. Ensure that the correct eight-letter combination is still aligned within the alignment marks. Gently slide the inner tube into the outer tube. Rotate the dials so as not to reveal the combination for the next geocacher. The cryptex is placed inside of another container to help protect it from the environment. If you happen to notice any of the device becoming weak, please add a comment to your log and I will make any necessary repairs right away. Also, since the inner tube has only enough room for the log and pen, the outer container can be used for trading SWAG and other items.

Solve the below crossword puzzle. 10 of the 11 words will have a number within the word (ex. If one of the answers was “artwork”, the number “two” can be found within it) Once the crossword is finished, use the hidden numbers and solve the below math problem to get the coords. The 11th word(the one without a number hidden within) will be used to open the cryptext once you have located the cache container.
