January 10th, 2014 marks 10 years since the placement of the very first EarthCache, on a headland 3 hrs south of Sydney, Australia by Geoaware and his two daughters.
10 years later, there are 17,558 EarthCaches placed around the world helping geocachers better understand the planet and the processes that form and shape it.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of EarthCaching, Metro Vancouver Geocaching is putting on an event to learn, share, and celebrate together as only us geocachers can do. The format of the evening will begin with a 30 minute crash-course on how to find and how to create EarthCaches, with a subsequent time of refreshment and sharing of stories, trackables, and general camraderie.
