A painted clip-lock container is located near this “Marine Aid To Navigation”. The cache is not on the tower itself, nor inside the fenced-off area around it. IT IS NOW A REG SIZE ,STORMWATER PIPE 90MM X 40CM LONG
Towers such as this have been placed around the coast as an aid to marine navigation. It’s officially a lighthouse although it doesn’t much resemble one. The signs on the fence around the tower read: “This marine aid to navigation is essential for safe navigation at sea. Any interference with it could endanger lives. Trespassing on or damaging this marine aid to navigation are offences under the Lighthouses Act 1911. Offenders are liable for prosecution.” The cache is located near the tower and the area is accessible by 2WD with care. However, we’d probably err on the side of caution and recommend a high clearance or 4WD vehicle. Also, don’t try to drive here in wet conditions or you might be here for longer than you expected.
