Geocache Description:

The Timber Trail is a two day mountain bike ride through Pureora forest from Pureora Village to Ongarue, near Taumarunui.  Total distance is 85km and the trail is graded 2-3 (Easy - Intermediate).  Enjoy majestic native forest, spectacular suspension bridges built especially for the trail and the rich history of this region.

Harrisons Creek is found just across a suspension bridge at marker 27 km.  It is a good place to stop for lunch on Day 1.  Here you will find a large open grassy clearing with easy access to water, a small shelter and a toilet.  Camping is available at Piropiro campsite about half way along the trail at the 40 km mark.  There is road access for vehicles to this campsite.  The cache is a 200 ml sistema container.
