Español: El denominado pozo "Púnico" de Tajao, se encuentra situado en la desembocadura del barranco de Vijigua, (Arico, Tenerife) y a unos trescientos metros de la línea de playa, estando a nivel del Mar. En las proximidades existen una serie de charcos que aumentan o disminuyen el nivel de las aguas de acuerdo con la plea o bajamar. El brocal del pozo es de forma circular, y dispone de una rampa escalonada de acceso. Las medidas son: 4´70 metros de diámetro, escalera, 3 metros de largo desde el arranque de la misma hasta la boca del pozo y 1´80 de ancho, estando obstruido el acceso por un enorme bloque de toba blanca que, posiblemente se desprendió de unas obras realizadas para el acondicionamiento de una pista de rodadura situada en un plano superior y próximo al lugar donde se encuentra situado el pozo.
Las paredes del pozo están construidas con piedras irregulares por el sistema de "piedra seca", es decir, sin ningún tipo de argamasa, y cuyas caras más planas configuran el interior de la construcción, esta pared de visible técnica constructiva arcaica, cubre hasta aproximadamente la boca del pozo, es decir, casi hasta ras del suelo, a partir de ahí, continua la pared hasta una altura de 2´50 metros sobre el nivel del suelo, esta pared esta compuesta de piedras volcánicas y bloques de toba dura y es de construcción mucho más reciente conforme se puede apreciar por las huellas de herramientas metálicas dejadas en las caras planas de las mismas.
Actualmente, el pozo se encuentra cegado por escombros hasta una altura de 2´80 metros cerca de la boca, así mismo, la escalera esta obstruida como hemos indicado anteriormente. Los restos de la pared exterior que aún quedan en pié consisten en un paño de unos tres metros de largo por dos cincuenta de alto, y unos 0´60 de ancho en el sector suroeste del pozo, el resto de la pared está desmoronada y sus restos esparcidos por los alrededores. Posiblemente el rodear la boca del pozo con este muro respondería a la necesidad de evitar que el pozo fuese anegado con las aguas corrientes y escombros arrastrados por estas como consecuencia de la lluvias, pero esta medida, desde mi punto de vista no justifica que se le diera una altura desmesurada como es la de dos metros y cincuenta centímetros, por otra parte, existen vestigios de que la construcción en su día pudo haber estado techada y quizás haber tenido puerta de acceso, según se desprende de una serie bloques rectangulares perfectamente tallados que están esparcidos cerca del lugar de inicio de la escalera y en lo que se puede apreciar unas entalladuras labradas en las mismas. En los alrededores del pozo, se encontraron fragmentos de cerámica de orígen guanche, así como fragmentos de tabonas y como diversos tipos de conchas de moluscos, entre los que habían algunos cauri. Barranco arriba, en la margen izquierda existe varias cuevas con signos evidentes de haber servido de habitáculo humano, y otras que fueron usadas como rediles para ganado.
Nota: Recomiendo recorrer el sendero circular que llega hasta éste caché y descubrir el resto de cachés escondidos y deleitarse con los variados "Majanos o Mojones" distribuidos por todo el sendero, realizados todos ellos por una persona más que "Maravillosa, Encantadora y muy Especial" que reside habitualmente en una preciosa cueva cercana, quien cuida y mantiene los senderos existentes.
