Mull: Loch Frisa view
A fine view of the island's largest loch
Loch Frisa is the island's largest freshwater body and is home to Mull's, perhaps Scotland's, most famous pair of White-tailed Eagles – Skye and Frisa – who have been successfully nesting here since 1998, but failed to raise new broods in 2010 and 2011, probably due to disturbance by essential forestry work.
The four-mile long loch is bordered to the east by a ribbon of conifers from Salen Forest and a long forestry track. On the western side is a shorter, deeper forest plantation. Beyond the forest is open moorland.
The cache is located close to a broad forest trail used by cyclists, which, with other nearby caches, can be combined in a fine circular walk.
