I used to run through this cemetery with my dog when I lived in town. It gave me something to read while running! :-) The County Library does an annual tour in October; they have actors assume the persona of some of the historical figures buried here. One of the best was in 2012 when they highlighted Dillard Cooper, who survived the Goliad Massacre! His is the big Historical Marker near the front gate.
It’s a very large cemetery. You are going to the back; it’s a nice walk, but you can drive if you want.
