Dois anos depois de terem abandonado o Castelo da Consolação em direção ao da Nazaré, estavam agora de volta, com mais soldados, mais equipamento e mais motivados. Assim, o Rei decidiu organizar 24h de comemoração no seu Castelo. Onde iria haver muita música, comida e vinho para todos.
Todos os aldeões do reino do Rei Ataíde foram convidados. O Fernão e a esposa, Adelaide, saíram de casa às 11h e foram para o castelo num carro de bois. Às 11h30, uma Adelaide ansiosa e impaciente perguntou ao Fernão, que estava a conduzir a um ritmo acelerado:
- Que distância já percorremos, querido?
Ao que o Fernão respondeu:
- Três vezes a distância daqui à estalagem, onde vou parar para comer.
O casal parou na estalagem para comer e partiu às 13h, continuando a viagem. Tendo comido demasiado, o Fernão ficou sonolento e estava a conduzir muito mais devagar do que antes de parar na estalagem. Receando chegar atrasada, Adelaide perguntou ao marido, às 14h, exatamente a 2km do ponto onde tinha feito a primeira pergunta:
- Ainda falta muito, Fernão?
O Fernão resmungou:
- Três vezes a distância que percorremos desde que saímos da estalagem.
Adelaide pediu então para conduzir, com o que um Fernão sonolento concordou prontamente. O casal chegou finalmente ao castelo às 15h30. Apesar da longa viagem, apreciaram todas as festividades.

Two years after leaving the Castle of Consolation toward the Nazaré, were now back with more troops, more equipment and more motivated. So the King decided to organize 24h commemoration in his castle. Where there would be lots of music, food and wine for everyone.
All the villagers of the kingdom of King Ataíde were invited. The Fernão and his wife, Adelaide , left home at 11am and went to the castle in an oxcart . At 11h30 a Adelaide anxious and impatient asked Fernão, who was driving at a fast pace:
- How far we have come, dear?
To which Fernão replied:
- Three times the distance from here to the inn, where I will stop for eat.
The couple stopped at the inn to eat and went at 13h, continuing the journey. Having eaten too much, the Fernão became drowsy and was driving much slower than before stopping at the inn. Fearing to be late, Adelaide asked her husband, at 14h, just 2km from the point where he had asked the first question:
- How much further, Fernão?
The Fernão muttered:
- Three times the distance we have traveled since we left the inn.
Adelaide then asked to drive, with a sleepy Fernão readily agreed. The couple finally arrived at the castle at 15h30. Despite the long trip, enjoyed all the festivities.
