The winter of 2012-2013 was long and gray. We (Teamajk, DeltaDelta1, and Yurtles) coped by turning our backs on winter. Solving puzzle caches was a good way to keep warm and dry and entertained. Cache puzzles posed by sujojeepers and mcdurr in California and Bumble! in Massachusetts were particularly challenging and educational. Each puzzle we solved was based on a different cipher from this American Cryptogram Association list. Now we want to share the fun with you by placing some ACA cipher caches in the Finger Lakes area. Enjoy!
Yurtles and Deltadelta1 have been very enthusiastic about putting out caches for this series, and I seem to have fallen behind. When I saw Ithacadoodle's request for new caches in honor of her TRIck or Trash CITO event, I decided I should get my act together and TRI to put out a new one myself. I think if you square up your shoulders and give it a TRI, figuring out which cipher has been used for this puzzle will be as easy as 1, 2, 3. Be sure to pay careful attention to the way the keys are handled in this cipher ... it's definitely a little TRIcky! Then you will be solving for the last 3 digits of north and west.
