Geocache Description:

This cache is NOT located at the posted coordinates.  It is however located nearby. Difficulty rating is for the puzzle portion of the cache - not the hide at the final destination. The rating for the cache itself would be a 1.5.  Please do not attempt this cache after dark.  Final is in a historical area.

The actual cache is located at:

N 41° 2A.BCD

W 074° 2E.FGH

This puzzle involves Ditloids.  The origin of the word Ditloid comes from a cryptic crossword clue which appeared several years ago in the United Kingdoms’ Daily Express newspaper: 1 = DitLoID, whose answer was One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich (A novel written by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.)

Many ditloids adhere to the structure of the original crossword clue, that is, a number followed by the equals sign (=) then the abbreviation. Others have a more flexible format, which enables a wider variety of information and facts to be used in their creation.  Like the Ditloids used to determine the cache coordinates, these Ditloids omit the number associated with it.

Here are some examples of the format used in the Ditloid puzzles used in this challenge: M I T Y - (Answer, 12 for months in the year) H I A D - ( Answer, Hours in a day) or C I A D W J -  (Answer, 52 for Cards in a deck without Jokers)

I will not kid with you.  The Ditloids used are not easy ones.  I do promise that each will involve a common saying, song or book quote, popular cultural reference or a science or mathematical concept.  The difficulty factor, as a result, is there for a reason.

A = G I A H T

B = B F S B

C = F P O W I C

D = F I A F

E = B I A B

F = G A L

G = O O H D O A

H = F O T C N

HAVE FUN AND GOOD LUCK!

The final is in an interesting place.
