This cache is placed in memory of Lucy and Mario, a couple who used to live a short distance from this cache. In 1942, right after they were married, they saw an “Acreage for Sale” sign as they were driving back to New York City along the Taconic Parkway. At that time, the area was sparsely populated and there was an actual working farm just a stone’s throw from the cache location. They purchased the property and eventually built a summer home there to use as a weekend escape from New York City. The summer home became a permanent residence in 1971. That home was the scene of many family get-togethers and barbeques over the years. Lucy and Mario loved drinking coffee and every meal would be capped off with Mario asking Lucy: “Coffee Lu?” and then, after a little while, the coffee and cake would appear. To honor their love of coffee and entertaining guests, we placed this cache, our first. Hopefully, it will also be visited by TBs who are moving from cache to cache and wish to stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee here. You are looking for a small round container Things you should know: There is a small pull-over area near the cache. This cache should be almost a park-n-grab and was placed so that it is easy to find. Coordinates could be slightly off due to the cache location and accuracy of the resulting GPS signal, but I doubt it will affect your ability to make the find. Traffic can move by very quickly on the adjacent road, so definitely be careful if you are parking on the shoulder of the road. Additionally, please do not park in any of the nearby private driveways. Please re-hide the cache as you found it. Congrats to CortlandtSeekers for the FTF!
